Performance duo Opera in Overalls is pleased to present “Once Upon a Time." This virtual recital is an exploration of the child’s perspective through classical art song. The program includes music by Leonard Bernstein, Gustav Mahler, Florence Price, Eric Whitacre, Modest Mussorgsky, Gustav Holst, and Felix Mendelssohn. The Opera in Overalls team utilizes principles of devised theatre (adapted for the virtual world) to weave together a playful and imaginative experience that expands the traditional recital format. Soprano Emily Yocum Black and mezzo Maria Miller will be joined by pianist David George. Recorded on Thursday October 22nd at St. Francis in the Fields in Louisville, Kentucky.
